Boost Your Brand with the New Tone of Voice Feature

In business as in life, it’s not just what you say that matters, but how you say it. In fact, tone of voice has measurable qualities and a measurable impact on users. As the Nielsen Norman Group found, tone of voice is a powerful tool for influencing users’ perceptions of how trustworthy you are – and 52% of the variability in how desirable a brand is perceived to be can be explained by trustworthiness alone. And even traditionally ‘dry’ industries, such as finance, can benefit from being a little more human in how they communicate. Serious, studies show, doesn’t have to mean cold, formal or boring.

So you’re in luck. Our latest feature lets you choose a preset tone of voice in which to communicate over email. You can choose between “Friendly”, “Direct” and “Elegant”, depending on your brand’s personality and your personal style. It means that you’ll sound just the same way when you’re sending review requests, replies to reviews, review confirmations, coupons, media reminders, and Q&A emails. You’ll have a distinct voice across all those communications, strengthening your connection with your customers and, ultimately, boosting your sales. You can also choose different tones of voice for different emails, if you prefer.

Choose the TOV that works for you ...

Picking your tone of voice is easy, too. All you have to do is navigate to the settings, and select the TOV you want in the relevant section. It’ll change the language you’re using instantly, meaning that the very next time you send out an email to a customer, it’ll be in friendly, direct, or elegant – according to your preference.

And there’s another thing, too. If you don’t think the tones of voice available are quite the right fit for you, don’t worry! You can make your own from scratch using the “Custom” setting. And if you don’t know where to start, take a look at our presets, and use them as inspiration before you have a go at creating your own.
